“Company culture” is one of those buzzwords that companies use to lure potential candidates to become full-time employees in their organization, and many times the phrase holds empty promises, but at Modern Flames, the “company culture” is real. After all, why else would leadership give employees opportunity to drop their Quality Control Lead, Garrett Stein, in the dunk tank? Or, climb up slippery stairs to go down a 20ft slide? We’re describing Splash Day, a water-themed employee only event that’s unique to Modern Flames.
“Splash Day is a day dedicated to each employee who works so hard to make this company great,” expresses Leann Price, HR Manager. “When we do something fun for all the employees the morale is very much felt and seen by all. Employees who are valued and appreciated go above and beyond for their employer.”
Indeed, on this hot July day, nearly 2,000 water balloons were thrown amongst Modern Flames employees from all departments. The 15 pies of pizza though – very much protected. And the payoff?
“I got a chance to bond with everyone,” says Maya Rose, Customer Service Representative. ”I didn’t know everyone’s name until Splash Day. It’s fun times like this that make me want to come to work more.”
